Choosing An MP3 Player

2007-05-07

Buying an mp3 player is not such a bad idea nowadays, especially if you are a true blue audiophile. If you music is your true love and you own like, say, a thousand CDs, would it not be so wonderful to be able to bring your entire CD library along with you so you can enjoy them wherever and whenever you go?

MP3 players are great because they allow music files to be compressed digitally into smaller files, enabling you to cram as much music as you can in the memory of your mp3. This is actually the first thing you have to consider when choosing an mp3 player: how much space do you need for your music?

Of course, the bigger the memory capacity, the more expensive the mp3 player is. There are three types of mp3 players you can pick from when choosing an mp3 player, based on memory capacity:

What Is The Buzz About OLED Displays?

2007-02-14
OLED is the short version for organic light-emitting diode. It is a special type of LED, sometimes called organic LED. It is called 'organic' because the thin layer film consists of certain organic compounds. The film is sandwiched between two layers, one metal cathode layer and one anode layer. The thin-film is named emissive layer. By applying current to the layer, light is emitted.

Desktop Processors - A Brief Guide

2006-10-04
If you are like me, you have spent the majority of your life in the PC Age. I can remember toying with the very first Personal Computers. In those days you were generally required to write your own programs in BASIC and your code or programs were stored to either a cassette tape, or, if the program was small enough, to a 5 ½ floppy. I spent many a day playing true gaming classics like Oregon Trail or a two-dimensional Star Trek game played with the up and down arrow keys on a keyboard. One thing is certain; PC performance has increased virtually exponentially since their inception.

We live in an age of technology and as such we are always looking for ways to make life easier or ways to make things look better. In the home or office (or even the home office) making things look better involves getting rid of clutter. This is where the wireless desktop comes into play. No wires means less clutter and because when using Bluetooth wireless devices line of sight is not needed, you can use your desk space to its optimum with no worries.

The New Age of Optical Media

2006-03-27
DVD has long overtaken VHS as the medium for recording TV and pre recorded films. How long will it be before DVD is superseded by the next development. Capacity is the issue here. The possibilities in terms of audio and audiovisual quality created by HDTV will require a medium with greater capacity than can be afforded by todays DVD disc.

How to Get a Good Deal on a Hard Drive

2006-03-18
Computer equipment is one of the hardest things to buy if you are not at least somewhat competent in the market. Many people are willing to take advantage of someone who does not have a clue what he or she need. Take the MarketPro Shows for example. Many different vendors frequent the shows in order to sell their wares, and on one occasion, this writer thought the Motherboard had gone on my computer, but I was also interested in upgrading my hard drive as well. One vendor quoted a price of approximately 350 to replace the Mother Board and include a hard drive of 2 Gb It seemed like a good deal at the time until shopping in various computer stores showed that a whole system with an 80 Gb hard drive could be purchased for not much more than that. Interesting thought, isnt it.
